What I've learned in this course so far

I've learn and discover a lot of new things in this English course. Even though I'm not the smartest guy in the classroom I try to learn something everyday i walk into the room. So far it hasn't been easy , but nothing is easy at all. I've learned to use technology as a tool for learning. And I've also learn to improve on my personal ideas about thinking. When it comes to useful tools that help us learn, we can say that technology is the best of them. When Dr. Preston told the class that we had to use a blog to do our homework, I asked myself how I'm going to do that. Today i like using the blog to do my homework is better than hard copy. Is much easier and faster. If we think about it teens like using technology a lot, which means that using a blog shouldn't be hard. With technology in our side we don't have a lot of excuses to not do our work and homework. This is my first time using a blog for a school class. So far my experience has been good. Homework has gotten easier I just have to click the pencil and then publish, something that is not hard. Adding technology has been something beneficial for education. English has never been my favorite class, only for one reason I'm not a fluent English speaker. Of all the courses I'm taking right English is the hardest one for me. That's how I used to think, in my English literature class I've learn to improve on my personal ideas about thinking. Today I'm still scare of English, but is not the same I think I've improve. In the English class I've done things that i would think I will never do. Memorizing poems is one them, even though I just memorize part of some poems i feel proud of myself. In my personal ideas i never thought I would achieve something like that. Improving on my personal ideas about thinking is something I've achieved in this course so far. I hope I can keep improving on my personal ideas about thinking. Learning how to use technology for education has been something great that will benefit a lot people. Improving on personal ideas about thinking is something I'm learning and trying to get better at it. These are a few things I've learn in this course, I hope I can learn more new things.

Fahrenheit 451 Q&A

Part 1 1. Montag lives in a society where people doesn't have the right to give their opinion or express their feelings. They have taken away the values of happiness. Is similar to our society, in Montag's people can't give their opinion, today people is afraid of giving their opinion. 2. Clarisse is special because she is not like the other people. She knows that humans can find real happiness not fake happiness. 3. The mechanical hound is programmed to prevent Montag from thinking different ideas. They don't want Montag to have an open mind to new ideas. 4. The women chooses to get burn with her books because she strongly believes that society is completely wrong. This causes an impact on Montag, it makes him think that books might have something valuable that even people give their live for them. 5. Bradbury probably tries to describe us how television did not impose good values to viewers. In fact society was not watching beneficial things. 6. Montag gets shocked because he doesn't want to believe that something happen to Clarisse. Mildred's attitude show that she doesn't care to much about death. 7. Montag pretends he is sick and doesn't go to work for a good reason. He is not sure if he doing the right thing, he wants to find out what's good and what's worng. 8. The fact that Montag has been hidden books in his house tells us interesting things about him. The main thing is that he has opened his mind to thinking, and also that he feels insecure he doesn't know if he doing good. 9. Beatty believes that their society is good without books. He believes that book are not essential and only provide negative thing for society. 10. Mildred claims that she is happy because that is what she believes, when in reality no one knows what been happy is all about. In my opinion being happy has to be one of our main goals in life. If we are not happy then we are not enjoying life. 11. An event that made Montag change was the lady that burnt with her books. Another one was meeting Clarisse. 12. - It was a pleasure to burn. - His inner mind, reaching out to turn the corner for him, had heard the faintest whisper. - "So many people are afraid of firemen, i mean. But you're a man, after all." 13. He laughed. 'That's against the law." 14. Second paragraph in page 18. Is confusing because it doesn't tell us why Montag woke up with his heart pumping. 15. My prediction is that Montag will be successful and he bring back books and happiness to society. Part 2 1. Mildred says television is better then books and i agree with her but that;s just my opinion. Opinions are different it depends on what people like and prefer. 2. Faber gave Montag his information because he knew that sooner or later he was going to contact him. He also felt alone he didn't had any friends. 3. Montag might answer that books. With books both of them will discover real happiness in life. 4. Montag will feel confuse again and he will have to choose which side is joining. 5. Montag visits Faber because he wants him to teach him. Montag knows that Faber is a professor, he wants to learn some reding skills to gain more knowledge and understand the content of books. 6. He doesn't mean it literally he means it in a symbolic way. His wife is close mind and doesn't want to take risk to find a path to a better life. 7. - Why books are important. - Leisure to digest it. - Right to carry our actions. Without this things is impossible to learn. 8. Faber is exaggerating when he talks about his cowardice. 9.The women have a really negative attitude towards books and children. They get scare and mad when Montag takes out a book. They also talk about how children are obstacles in life. 10. Montag starts reading poedtry because he feels brave, he doesn't want to take orders from nobody again. Mrs Bowles gets frustrated and thinks Montag is nasty because he likes poetry. 11. Beatty tries to convince Montag that books are not good. Beatty probably knows that Montag has been reading book, that's his advantage.

Literature analysis #2

I'm still reading the same book titled Breaking Through by Francisco Jimenez. As i drescribed in literature analysis number 1 i identified myself with the main character Francisco. I'm an honest guy sometimes i don't read but when i read i dedicate good time to my reading. The author's family struggled really hard his parents had to move to mexico for a certain time. Francisco is still facing many obstacles he works hard and also goes to school. Francisco is a static character he is still focous on becoming a teacher. When i read this book i feel like i'm meeting the author because he had the same problems i'm having.

What are we talking about ?

Conversations are essential to have good communication with others. In fact communicating is an art. Nowadays people talk about things they like to do or things they love.  By conversating we can learn a lot from others. We can learn what  their hobbies are, favorite food, traditions, find things in common etc. For these reasons we need to value conversations, because conversations are art. The only thing we can do is use conversations for good purposes.
